Curriculum

Mario Biey received the Dr. Eng. degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy) in 1967.
Initially, he worked on optimization techniques applied to passive filter design at the Istituto Elettrotecnico Nazionale Galileo Ferraris, Turin, Italy. In 1971, he joined the Department of Electronics at the Polytechnic of Turin, Italy, where he is currently a Professor.

In 1984 and 1987 he spent some periods as Invited Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, working on computer-aided-analysis of nonlinear circuits. From 1986 to 1990 he was on the faculty of the University of Catania, Italy, as a Professor of Basic Circuit Theory.
He has been a consultant to several Italian industries in the areas of filter design and computer-aided-design and is a coauthor of the book “Tables for active filter design” (Artech House, 1985). He has served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems-I.

His interests and contributions have been in the areas of passive and active filter design, and approximation theory. His more recent interests include computer-aided-analysis of nonlinear circuits, with emphasis on chaotic phenomena, application of Cellular Neural Networks to image processing, and synchronization of complex networks.
